Arts & Activities

Rose Parade CA 2016

We have crazy-good arts in Mason, and so many opportunities to get involved. If we don't have something you're looking for, this school district is ready to let a student pitch the idea and make it a new club offering.benny Farbstein, MHS Class of 2023

Performing Arts

Our William Mason Marching Band consistently ranks among the top marching bands in the US, and has even performed at the Rose Bowl Parade. Our Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony have performed at Carnegie Hall, and we’re the only Ohio band to receive the Sudler Flag and Sudler Shield. Our nationally-ranked orchestra program has performed in some of the most prestigious venues in the nation, and has earned the highest rating possible of “Unanimous Superior” for the Symphony Orchestra students’ musicality and artistry. Vocalists, too, shine in Mason - with students recently performing at Carnegie Hall and every choir earning superiors at the OMEA competition. Our fall and winter plays and spring musicals regularly rank among the best in the TriState at the regional Cappies Awards.

Visual Arts

Our comprehensive visual arts courses encourage students to develop creativity and innovation. Our district provides a comprehensive arts program - early childhood through grade 12. Our student artists in the middle school and the high school regularly earn national scholastic gold and silver keys for the masterpieces, as well as hefty visual art scholarships.

Clubs & Activities

Because we believe in educating the whole child at Mason City Schools, we provide a wide range of learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. Students who participate in extracurricular activities tend to do better academically. Clubs also give students the opportunity to work with peers and build lifelong friendships, develop problem-solving and leadership skills, strengthen self-esteem, and learn new things in a fun environment. Joining a club also gives students a chance to explore their interests and talents.

Something for everyone!
There are over 70 school-sanctioned clubs at Mason High School, and more than 30 school-sanctioned clubs at Mason Middle School.
