CommUNITY Conversations
CommUNITY Conversations are an opportunity for citizens to talk with the Superintendent and other members of the Mason City Schools leadership team. By bringing people together to share stories and discuss issues that matter, we expand our sense of neighborhood and bridge divides through the power of connections and relationships. CommUNITY Conversations are often hosted in people's homes, businesses, or places of worship. Sometimes, the district hosts a Special Edition CommUNITY conversation about an issue. CommUNITY Conversations are where we find common ground when confronting and solving difficult issues. Some of the topics we have discussed include ensuring equity and inclusion, mental wellness, school safety, school start times, school finances, and other topics that need community input.

Brewing Up Conversations
Join Superintendent Dr. Jonathan Cooper for a cup of coffee and some Comet CommUNITY conversation at a local coffee shop. Comet Coffee Talks are open opportunities for the community to connect with the superintendent and other district leaders while supporting a local business. Attendees will hear updates that are taking place throughout the district, and have an opportunity to ask questions, give feedback and engage in productive conversation about the future of our school district. Superintendent Cooper will purchase the first 5 coffees for the first 5 guests who arrive at the coffee conversation.
