A $100 donation fully funds 1 Mason Child for the Holiday Help program
Last year, the Comet commUNITY donated over $30,000 at the holidays through its partnership with Joshua’s Place. The need today is greater than ever. There are over 350 students whose families regularly receive support from Joshua’s Place. Stepping up means giving these families the ability to have Thanksgiving dinner, holiday gifts so that parents can experience the joy of the season with their children, food gift cards to make sure families are fed over holiday breaks, and any extra funds help support families throughout the year with rent assistance, groceries, gas, etc. as needs arise.
This year, Mason City Schools holiday help recipients will receive gift cards so that parents can choose appropriate, meaningful gifts for their children. This revamped process will also allow Mason City Schools dedicated school counselors to continue their focus on supporting students’ mental health, behavior and academic needs, rather than managing the logistics of matching purchased gifts to students facing economic hardship.
We are grateful for your generosity, and appreciate your heart for helping families overcome the barriers in their lives that cause instability. Thank you for believing, like us, in these families’ tremendous value and worth, and in your commitment to help that preserves dignity.
