Student Nutrition

Fueling Learning

Mason City Schools' Child Nutrition department is made up of a dedicated team of food and nutrition professionals focused on our students' health and their ability to learn. We believe proper nutrition in the school age years can reinforce lifelong eating habits that contribute to a student's overall well being. This will help them to grow and learn to their fullest potential, and then go on to lead a long healthy life.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of delicious, nutritious and affordable foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.
