The Mason City School District’s leadership team will soon have an important new addition.
Todd Petrey will be Mason’s new Chief Operating Officer beginning September 1. Petrey replaces Assistant Superintendent of Operations Mike Brannon, who will retire in December.
Petrey, who comes to Mason City Schools with more than 20 years of curriculum. financial and operations experience, currently serves as the Springboro Superintendent. He also brings private sector experience to his role.
Mason City Schools Superintendent Gail Kist-Kline said she was excited to recommend Petrey to the Mason Board of Education for approval at the school board’s May 24 meeting.
“We are very pleased that Todd has agreed to join our team. He will provide inspiring leadership for our bus drivers, custodians and child nutrition workers, and will strengthen our team with his strong academic background as we work to ensure that our schools continue to meet the needs of our learners,” said Kist-Kline.
Petrey looks forward to meeting more of the Mason City Schools community as he transitions to the new role.
“In the 20 years I have been an educator, I have admired the level of education delivered to all Mason students. I'm extremely excited to become part of the Mason City School District Community,” said Petrey.
