P&G Women's Passion for Science Inspires MMS Girls

Mason Middle School is helping girls pursue their love of science, technology, engineering and math. One way that the school is encouraging future female engineers and scientists is by connecting MMS girls with female leaders who share the students' passion for STEM. In February, twenty Mason Middle School seventh and eighth grade students heard five Proctor and Gamble women share their science careers and the educational paths that helped them reach their career goals.

“It was a wonderful opportunity for our young ladies interested in science.  It also was a great opportunity for us to continue to build a great partnership with P&G!” said seventh grade science teacher Renee McCord.

The P&G speakers, who are involved in the P&G Oral Health Care department, included Donna Chamblin - U.S. Dentifrice Regulatory Affairs Manager, Marisa Casola - Research & Development Product Development Engineer, Malgorzata Klukowska - Oral Care Clinical Scientist, Tyra Leazer - Global Product Stewardship Toxicologist and Dalia Sakkab - Professional & Technical Affairs.

“It really helped me think about careers more and gave me some more info on about if I would like to work in P&G,” said MMS seventh grader Aparna Radhakrishna.

“It allowed me to understand the science jobs available at P&G, and more about other sections in my dad's company,” added MMS seventh grader Manuela Capiello, whose father is an employee at P&G.
