Evacuation Today at 10:50am, there were reports that a construction crew working outside of the high school near B-Pod may have hit a gas line while installing the safety fencing around the new dust collector. Duke Energy and The Mason Fire Department are on site investigating.

There are no injuries. As a precautionary measure, Mason High School students in A-Pod and B-Pod are being evacuated to the Arena located inside Mason Middle School.

Students and staff will not be able to re-enter the building until it has been cleared by the Mason Fire Department.

As we receive more information, you will receive additional updates. UPDATE: Today at 11:35am, the Fire Marshall gave the all-clear that A-Pod and B-Pod were safe for students and staff to re-enter. Any students who may have missed lunch during the evacuation will be fed when they come back to the building.

Students and staff had a disciplined RESPONSE to today’s EVENT ensuring a smooth and safe OUTCOME - it was a great display of #CometCulture in action!
