The ninth annual Taste of Mason was held in Mason High School's Commons on Wednesday February, 3. The Mason community came together and celebrated its diversity by enjoying food from many ethnic and independent local restaurants, while watching multicultural performance.
The Taste of Mason is sponsored by the Manor House and STUGO, and offers free admission to the public. Food vendors charged modest prices for their offerings so patrons could try a variety of items with many ethnic flavors.
Taste of Mason attendees sampled new dishes, caught up with old friends, and watched mesmerizing performances by incredible talent! Children learned about international currency by "purchasing" Mason Comet Zone items (including global candy) with their cash, and had their passports stamped at each continent as they took their trip around a global carnival-- right here in Mason!
Participating local food vendors included 20 Mile Deli, Aponte's Pizzeria, Cazadores Mexican, Chan's Asian Wok, Divine Appetite Cafe, Great Harvest Bread, L'Crepe, Soho Japanese Bistro, Sweets Zone Bakery, The Mason Grill, Troy's Cafe, Two Cities Pizza, and Zoup!.
Performances included those by MHS Jazz, the ASL Club, MHS Vocal, Piano Performances by Ashley Cai, Jonathan Luo, and Alex Pan, Aadhya Dance Academy, Odissi Classical Indian Dance, Drum Line, Comet Skippers, HuaXia Chinese School, Bharatanatyam Bollywood Dance, I.K. Kim Take Kwon Do Demo Team, and Asi Es Colombia.
