On November 9, a Mason Middle School student created an issue by writing “bomb the school on 11/12/15” inside a boys bathroom stall at Mason Middle School.
We are proud that students followed our protocol exactly by choosing to immediately “Say Something” to a teacher.
After conducting a thorough investigation - which included interviewing students and reviewing videotape - law enforcement and school administration identified the student who made the threat. That student is facing school disciplinary charges, and faces a felony charge of inducing panic. Law enforcement has concluded that the student was acting alone, and strongly believe that school safety is not compromised.
Making a bomb threat is a felony, and we take any threat very seriously. Please consider talking with your child about the real and severe consequences this type of action has for his or her future.
School Safety Is Everyone’s Responsibility
