MAP Assessments (grades 1-6)

Focusing on Every Child’s Individual Growth and Achievement

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests are another measure Mason City Schools teachers use to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year in reading and math. Teachers use this information to provide customized support and enrichment to students in ways that best support their learning.
MAP tests are unique in that they automatically adapt to your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. MAP tests are given in the fall and spring each year in grades 1-6.
Partnering to help all kids learn, parents and teachers can have a profound positive effect on the lives of our children. For more resources on the MAP, download the Parent Toolkit.
