The district's Transportation Department hosted a Safe Rider Program on Friday, August 10. The program included fun activities for all ages. Students learned about bus stop safety, took a bus tour, went for a quick bus ride, and even went down a slide off the end of one bus!

“These are challenges that we encounter daily as we transport our most precious cargo to and from school every day,” said MCS Transportation Supervisor Carolyn Thornton. "Ensuring the safety of students as they enter and exit the bus is crucial."

Here are a few bus safety tips from our MCS bus drivers who created this safety video:

Don't run to the bus - walk!
Stay at least 10 feet away from the bus at all times
Keep your hands to yourself.
No eating or drinking on board.
