18-19 Transition Information

Parents have the opportunity to provide information about their child as a learner so that school administrators can place all students in environments where they will be successful.  

Our goal is to create equitable classroom environments across our entire school to grow ALL learners.  Principals make classroom placement decisions based on teacher input, counselor input, administrator input, parent input, academic information, and social-emotional information. Parents will no longer rank teacher/teams. Instead, parents will share which teams they believe would be a good fit for their child.

This year, administrators are asking for parent input about their children’s learner attributes. The information that parents share will be used for placement, and also shared with teachers so they can better support students. Parents will be asked to share information about their child’s learner behavior, social-emotional skills, optimal classroom environment, and academic needs.
